Have you ever wondered which road to take while driving?What about taking a wrong turn? The fact is we have all taken the wrong road sometime or another. Sometimes it just pays to have a map of the road we are traveling.
I remember last summer while traveling back home from vacation my family, and were really just trying to get home as quickly as we could when we came through Columbia SC when we got mixed up and turned around not going to where we were trying to go which was home. After some regrouping, and trying to get things straightened out we were coming to the house!
I thought I knew the right way when really I needed a road map to guide me in the right direction.
In todays fast paced, slow down for no one world I believe many people view salvation, and the thought of Eternity the same way. Everyone knows it seems, but in reality we need a road map to guide us in the right direction. The word of God is just that road map we need to guide us in the right direction.
There are four thing you should know about a road map
- Everyone needs a map! Romans 3:10,23 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
- The Reason why we need a map.
Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
3. The need to understand this map
Romans 5:8-9 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.”
Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
4. The success in heeding the map
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
